JOSEPH: I’LL CLICK WITH NEW PARTNER BARRITT

- CHRIS FOY

JONATHAN JOSEPH believes he and Brad Barritt can establish an immediate harmony as England’s untried but first-choice duet in the problem area of midfield. The Bath centre will line up alongside Barritt for the first time at Twickenham on Saturday, against Ireland and Joseph (right) said: ‘We have done a lot of work in training and the work that we’ve done in the analysts’ room just ties that together. We were doing that even before this team was announced so I feel very confident playing outside Brad. When I’ve been with England recently I’ve played a lot with Luther Burrell and he is similar to Brad. ‘I’ll have more of a playmaking role and he will be more of the hard runner. Brad is a very strong ball-carrier and a very strong defensive player, so I think he’ll stick to that and I’ll try to ball-play.’
