Nobody died, Ramos tells De Gea CHRIS WHEELER

-

SERGIO RAMOS has urged David de Gea to get over his Real Madrid disappointment, telling him: ‘Life goes on, nobody has died.’ As Spain boss Vicente del Bosque warned De Gea yesterday that he must regain his place in the United side if he wants to go to Euro 2016, Ramos said: ‘He has had a bumpy summer because he has decided his future and that of his family. But it is something we have to go through at times. Everyone has to understand the facts and do their best wherever they are. Life goes on. Nobody has died for this. He must maintain his level, he is one of the best keepers.’ The Spain centre back was wanted by United as part of the ill-fated deal but then signed a long-term contract at Real. Del Bosque needs De Gea, 24, to be playing first-team football to stay in contention for the European Championship finals in France next summer when Spain hope to defend their title. He said: ‘I hope that he starts playing again and is happy and if he plays well we can bring him along. Otherwise if he doesn’t play it will be very difficult for him to come. De Gea’s fellow Spaniards at United have no doubt that he will make a comeback. Ander Herrera said: ‘He has had a very, very good four years for United and he will do it again.’ Juan Mata added: ‘ He has the right personality to deal with this situation. He is a relaxed person and mentally very strong. Even in moments of maximum pressure and stress he can still play well.’
