Teen stabbed to death ‘for disrespecting another boy’

- Daily Mail Reporter

A TEENAGER was stabbed to death for ‘disrespecting’ another boy by talking to his girlfriend.

Shaquan Fearon’s mother Sharon looked on in horror as paramedics battled to save him as he lay bleeding on the ground after being attacked with a kitchen knife during a fight.

But the 17-year-old, a keen footballer who had been due to start a business course next week, was pronounced dead at hospital.

Mrs Fearon said he was a ‘respectful, quiet boy who helped me all the time’. Describing the violent neighbourhood as ‘a frontline’, she added: ‘He was a great son and now he is gone.’

Police were called by residents after an argument broke out on an estate in Brockley, South London, on Thursday evening.

Another 17-year-old boy, named locally as Junior and said to be one of Shaquan’s best friends, also suffered knife wounds and was rushed to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

A witness, who asked to remain anonymous, said the trouble began after two girls spoke to Shaquan and Junior as they relaxed on the estate.

One was talking to her boyfriend on the phone at the same time. ‘I think he felt disrespected,’ the witness said, adding that the fight broke out when the boyfriend arrived with some of his friends.

No arrests have been made.
