Kate and the fresh new face claiming her crown

- By Sam Creighton Showbusiness Reporter

MODELLING is all about fresh faces. But Kate Moss has years of experience on her side – and wasn’t about to be troubled standing next to a glowing Cara Delevingne.

The industry veteran, 41, smiled for the cameras as she posed with Cara, 2 , at a fashion event in Milan.

Miss Delevingne showed off her lean figure in a casual dress and jacket, while Miss Moss went for a more androgynous look in a monochrome trouser suit. The picture, above right, follows the news that Cara is the world’s second-highest-paid model – and the topearning Brit – outranking Kate, who now stands in twelfth place.

According to Forbes, Miss Delevingne earned £5.9million over the last 12 months, putting her second only to Gisele Bundchen,

5. Miss Moss earned half the amount, raking in a still-respectable £ million in total. The pair are said to be good friends, having posed together for Burberry, above left, and Miss Delevingne has told how the older model has inspired her. She once said: ‘I was such a tomboy, but Kate Moss, I knew exactly who she was – she was the face, she was the icon.’

The duo seemed to be on good terms, laughing and joking despite it being recently reported that they have had a falling out. It was said in July that Miss Moss had ‘black- listed’ the younger model as she was not happy with Miss Delevingne’s clash with her friend and fellow supermodel Naomi Campbell. Miss Delevingne’s earnings have almost trebled over the last 12 months – she appeared in campaigns for 1 different brands and branched out into acting.

Kate Moss saw her earnings drop by around £1.6million compared to last year, but managed to hold on to her lucrative contracts with Rimmel and Burberry.
