Sharks caught out
FOLLOWING a MoneyMail investigation, insurance companies will be forced to inform customers what the price of their old policy was when sending out automatic renewal letters – thereby ending the rip-off practice of firms being able to sharply hike the cost each year, without loyal customers noticing.
This hugely welcome step is yet another example of the vital role played by the free Press in protecting the public from the financial sharks who wish to prey upon them.
