THE 338,000 Allied troops evacuated from Dunkirk in 1940 — as the Germans took control of Europe — included 123,000 French soldiers. THERE were 338 arrests related to counterterrorism nationally in the year to the end of March — a third up on 2014, according to the police. Of those arrests, 157 were linked to Syria and 56 were under 20 years old. THERE are 338 species of hummingbird, the only bird able to fly forwards and backwards equally well.
