Frank still doing it for Blues
FRANK LAMPARD’S respect for his former club Chelsea has been highlighted again by his attendance at the funeral of the club’s former manager Bobby Campbell. The New York City midfielder is becoming an unofficial — yet credible — ambassador for the game in the autumn of his professional playing career. Lampard, who has returned to England for a couple of months following the end of the MLS season in the United States, was among a number of high-profile mourners who attended the service at St Mary’s Church in Chelsea. Campbell, who once told this columnist: ‘I can’t tell you much more about my relationship with Roman, other than to say that if I did I would have to kill you’, was a popular figure within Chelsea’s inner circle. Although Roman Abramovich was unable to attend the funeral, chairman Bruce Buck and technical director Michael Emenalo were among a number of representatives from Chelsea.
