UNITED ROCKED BY ROJO SHOULDER KO

- By CHRIS WHEELER and SAMI MOKBEL

MANCHESTER UNITED are waiting to see if Marcos Rojo will need surgery after the Argentina defender dislocated his left shoulder again in training. Rojo sustained the same injury in the Manchester derby 13 months ago and was sidelined for four weeks, but did not require an operation on that occasion. The 25-year-old has had scans on the shoulder and medical staff are analysing the results. It adds to Louis van Gaal’s problems at left-back with England defender Luke Shaw already ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a broken leg against PSV Eindhoven in September. The United boss could be tempted to go into the transfer market for another left-sided defender next month, although Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian, Ashley Young and Tyler Blackett can all play in that position. Meanwhile, United face competition from Bayern Munich in the race to land Sadio Mane. The Southampton attacker has impressed during his 18-month spell at St Mary’s, scoring 17 goals for Ronald Koeman’s side. Mane, 23, is keen on a move to Old Trafford next month but knows Southampton would prefer to wait until the summer — unless an offer around the £40million mark is submitted.
