Gobbledygook beyond satire...
JESSICA HYNES, the comic actress who plays right-on PR guru Siobhan Sharpe in BBC satire W1A, was invited by Channel 4 to address a conference on diversity.
Instead of amusing anecdotes, Hynes (right) condemned the white, post- colonial mind- set, instructed her audience to throw off ‘ the propaganda rhetoric of oppression’ and warned: ‘Our cultural muscles are being atrophied in a semi- conscious, flabby mainstream.’
And, no, she wasn’t speaking in character.
Not someone you’d choose to be stuck in a BBC lift with, perhaps.
