Why Claudia will be glad to be grey

WHILE Countryfile’s Miriam O’Reilly felt obliged to dye her grey hair because the BBC ‘expected me to turn up with youthful locks’, Strictly ’s Claudia Winkleman is under no such pressure.

‘I don’t worry about ageing, I think the older the better and women should embrace getting older rather than trying to look young all the time,’ Winkleman, 44, tells me at Russell Young’s Superstar show at the Halcyon Gallery in Mayfair. ‘I don’t have grey hair yet, but when it comes, bring it on! Women shouldn’t be afraid of grey hair — it’s a sign of wisdom.’
