Hazy Holly, fuzzy Phil and This Morning after the night before

- By Sam Creighton and Joe Cowan

FOR most of us, if we turned up to work still tipsy from the night before we’d soon be looking for a new job.

But no one seemed too worried yesterday when ITV’s This Morning show began with hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield slumped on the sofa.

They were still in the outfits they had worn to the National Television Awards the previous evening, where they won the accolade for best live magazine show.

If the popular pair are to be believed, they had gone to the studio straight from a night of celebrating at Ant McPartlin’s after-party and were nursing sore heads.

Miss Willoughby, her white gown apparently stained with mustard and piccalilli from a food-throwing game, said: ‘Should we be honest? I haven’t been home yet. We

came straight here.’ Schofield later added: ‘We can only apologise. We celebrated on behalf of each and every one of you. Neither of us should be on television.’

Earlier they posted a series of pictures of their night on social media, including one of them kissing their trophy.

In a tweet, Schofield wrote: ‘Oh no! This could be the worst one yet... We may be pulling an all-nighter.’

Hours later he tweeted a picture of a Red Bull energy drink and Alka-Seltzer tablets with the caption: ‘Hanging! Worst ever.’

Miss Willoughby tweeted that they were ‘still going’ at 3am, followed fours later by another tweet, simply saying: ‘Oh my.’ The updates continued, with several pictures of them drinking alcohol.

They ran up until moments before they were due to go on air, with one showing them collapsed on the sofa and

Miss Willoughby then tweeted: ‘I more composed. strongly advise you watch the start During the show a clip of mobile phone footage showed them playing the children’s game Pie-Face during the night. Participants load a mechanical hand with various food substances and wind a handle until the hand eventually flips up and splatters them. Unfortunately for Miss Willoughby, she was covered with the concoction and the stains remained on her dress.

They also pictured themselves partying with fellow This Morning presenter Rylan Clark, who tweeted yesterday that he would never drink again, adding: ‘ I really shouldn’t go out drinking with Holly & Phil.’
