SURPRISING support for Mrs Thatcher has come from Dame Helen Mirren, 70, who won an Oscar for playing the Queen. ‘Women need role models — they’re incredibly important,’ she tells Woman and Home magazine. ‘Even though I’m on the opposite side of the political spectrum, I’ve always said that Margaret Thatcher was a terrific role model because she made being Prime Minister a possibility for women — and that was not the case when I was growing up.’
