De Bruyne back with a bang

- SAM CUNNINGHAM at the Vitality Stadium

MANCHESTER CITY scored more goals in their victory against Bournemouth than in their previous four Premier League away games combined. Such was the impact that Kevin De Bruyne, still not 100 per cent fit, had on his return. De Bruyne (right), returning from two months out with a knee injury, scored 12 minutes into his comeback. In his absence City have virtually thrown away their chance of winning the Premier League, and with his clever runs, incisive passing and ability to find space, the £55million signing showed how integral he is to the side. ‘I felt OK, a little bit stiff but that’s normal,’ said De Bruyne. ‘I’m happy with the way we played. We’ve got to play like that more often. ‘It’s not nice to watch from the sidelines but you try to train very hard to be fit as quickly as possible.’ Manuel Pellegrini is considering starting De Bruyne in the Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, but the Belgian said: ‘Obviously this went well but you never know what’s going to happen. It’s possible that in the next game I’ll be a bit less effective but I’m trying to maintain my physical level to be at a perfect level as quickly as possible.’
