HAVE you ever wandered into a lovely shop and left with nothing because you were too embarrassed to buy only a greetings card? Think again: that card — and other small purchases — could keep an independent retailer, reeling from online competition, from going under, says the Just A Card campaign, brainchild of designer Sarah Hamilton. ‘Small purchases like this are not “mean” or embarrassing, they are vital to keep small businesses alive in the High Street,’ she says.
You wouldn’t fear appearing miserly buying them in a chain store, would you?
