N Korean spy chief defects

ONE of North Korea’s most senior generals has defected to the South.

The officer, who handled spy operations targeting South Korea, is thought to be the highest-ranking official to quit the North.

Leader Kim Jong-Un, who took power after his father Kim Jong-Il died in 2011, has treated members of his inner circle with brutality, executing those who fall out of favour.
