WE GIVE the EU approx £8 billion net per year and this is paid to an organisati­on that has not had its accounts signed off by their auditors for at least 18 years. Would the Government deal with a commercial company with this problem, would this be considered to be a safe investment, would it get a good credit rating? Of course not. Imagine the outcry if it was found that a charity could not satisfy its auditors. How do we have any assurance that the EU is any better than Fifa?

Maybe someone, somewhere will have a rational answer but I will not hold my breath.
