CRISPIN ODEY
The hedge fund boss’s fortune has dipped £200m in the past year to £900m according to the Sunday Times Rich List, meaning he’s no longer a billionaire. The shame!
DIESEL DRIVERS
Mitsubishi shares fell 40pc after it falsified fuel economy tests in Japan. Shares in European car makers Daimler, Peugeot and Volkswagen also dropped sharply as the industry’s emissions-fixing saga continued and the Government found flawed tests in the UK.
RONALD McDONALD
French authorities sent McDonald’s a €300m bill for unpaid taxes on profits. Meanwhile, Labour banned the Golden Arches from having a stall at its party conference in London. Not lovin’ it.
SMOKE ALARMS
Coventry- based Sprue Aegis revealed batteries fitted to some of its smoke alarms were faulty, costing its bosses £9m. The ‘chirp’ that warns the battery is running low sounds early, much to the irritation of customers.
