Marler could be in trouble again

-

ENGLAND prop Joe Marler may find himself in yet more hot water as, on his return from a two-week ban for his ‘gipsy-boy’ comment to Wales prop Samson Lee, he appeared to kick Grenoble hooker Arnaud Heguy in the head. Marler will have to wait nervously on the verdict from the citing commissioner, but it did not look good. It may not have been vicious or a particularly hefty blow, but it seemed to be a kick at a man lying on the ground nonetheless. At least Harlequins booked their place in the European Challenge Cup final with this dominant win over Grenoble, thanks to scores from Jamie Roberts, Nick Evans and George Lowe. The final in Lyon will be a fine send-off for Quins director of rugby Conor O’Shea, who departs to take up the role of Italy head coach at the end of the season. Twelve minutes after the break last night, Evans made his remarkable comeback. Only 10 weeks after breaking his leg, the Kiwi veteran scored a superb try only three minutes after coming on. The 35-year-old kicked ahead, gathered and dived under the posts.
