Another day and another stunt... it’s Amanda sprawling nude at 45

- By Rehema Figueiredo and Sam Creighton

AT the age of 45 and with two children waiting at home, many women would be happy to settle into the image of a mother.

But Amanda Holden refuses to be outdone by her younger TV counterparts, topping off a week of increasingly risque outfits with her first nude photo shoot – on a bed of green veg.

The star is a decade older than Alesha Dixon, 37, her glamorous Britain’s Got Talent co-judge, and there is an even greater gap between her fellow Simon Cowell favourite, the former Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, who is 32.

However Miss Holden seems to believe she is still in her salad days – stripping off for animal rights group PETA.

In doing so though, she walked straight into a row with campaigners criticising her for adding to the ‘overtly sexualised media’ children are exposed to.

Having once confessed she would pose for Playboy if the money was right, she sprawled naked across a bed of cabbages to promote vegetarianism.

The photo, taken by Trevor Leighton, was not digitally retouched according to PETA.

Miss Holden has worn a series of revealing outfits for this week’s live BGT semi-finals. It all began on Sunday, with a black Philip Armstrong gown, that made the most of her long legs with its see-through skirt cut. Then on Monday, she opted for a Kaufman-Franco dress with a plunging neckline.

But it was on Tuesday that she really shocked viewers, with a white dress split to the top of her left thigh which revealed she was knickerless. Wednesday night’s slashed-to-the-navel yellow gown also prompted viewers to take to Twitter to tell her to cover up.

Last night she seemed to heed the advice, picking a skin tight blue dress – albeit split to the thigh once again.

A spokesman for campaign group Mediawatch UK said: ‘It is disappointing that having entered the animal rights debate BGT presenter Amanda Holden did not stick to using her female intellect, intelligence, charm and celebrity status when supporting and highlighting this issue, but felt that in some way her naked body would add to that debate. Everyone is agreed that children and young people are being exposed to overtly sexualised material in the media and we need celebrities involved in family entertainment to help lead the way on this issue.’

Despite facing strong criticism for her wardrobe choices, Miss Holden has previously said she is proud of her figure. She has long credited her vegetarian lifestyle for her slim physique.

Miss Holden has two daughters, Hollie, nine, and Lexie, four, with her husband Chris Hughes. Five years ago the couple endured the agony of losing their son Theodore when Miss Holden was seven months into her pregnancy.
