Briton’s body is found after Thai speedboat horror
THE body of a British man who was missing after a speedboat accident in Thailand was found yesterday.
Jason Parnell, 46, a sales manager, from Loughborough, Leicestershire, disappeared on Thursday when a huge wave capsized the boat off the island of Koh Samui.
Monica O’Connor, 28, from Sale, Manchester, also died in the accident, alongside two women from Germany and Hong Kong.
Mrs O’Connor, nee Cozma, was on her honeymoon, while Mr Parnell was celebrating his first wedding anniversary with his wife Puja. Mrs Parnell and Mrs O’Connor’s husband Tim are both thought to have escaped unharmed.
Police said the body of father-of -two Mr Parnell was found by rescue workers on rocks close to where the Angthong Discovery Tour vessel went down. It was carrying 32 tourists and four crew at the time. The boat’s captain, Sanan Seekakiaw, was taken into police custody after the accident.
