CLEAN THE NATURAL WAY

Try using these effective natural methods for cleaning your house.

CITRUS SCRUB

Cut a lemon in half and sprinkle the cut surface with coarse salt. use it to scrub around the bathtub and taps.

TEA TREE TREAT

For an antibacterial spray, drop some fresh rosemary into a saucepan with 150ml white wine vinegar, and bring to the boil. once it’s cool, pour into a spray bottle and add 3 teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda, a drop of washingup liquid and three drops of tea tree oil. the bicarb and washing liquid cut through grease, while the rosemary cleanses and perfumes.

VODKA SPRITZ

Avoid aerosols and use vodka and natural essential oils to spritz away musty smells. Just pour half a pint of distilled water, 6 tablespoons of vodka and 20 drops of a lavender essential oil into a spray bottle. use on linens, soft furnishings and carpets.

UNBLOCK WITH BICARB

CHEMICAL drain cleaners are some of the most toxic products you can use. But try tipping a cup of baking soda down the plug hole, followed by half a pint of boiling water. Wait two minutes, and repeat. Plug the sink and you should hear sizzling.

BUFF WITH BREAD

BUFFING gently with a slice of white bread will remove most scuffs and fingerprints on paintwork.
