MOOD FOOD
Blackberries for a sharper mind
NUTRITIONIST Amanda Hamilton shows you how to manage your mood -with food.
COMING into season this week, blackberries -also known as brambles — are some of the best sources of brain-food around. Not only are they rich in nutrients such as magnesium and vitamins A,C, E and B, all of which are beneficial for healthy brain neurons, they’re also full of antioxidants and powerful molecules called flavonoids. They are associated with everything from reduced cancer risk to improved memory.
Mix them with equally healthy blueberries and strawberries. A breakfast full of berries is a great way to start your day.
