DESPITE being given a rough ride by investors last week, Haitong analysts still rate M&S.

While the broker disagreed with some of the retailer’s strategy for revitalising clothing, it said there was still potential for recovery and that the balance sheet was strong.

It added: ‘M&S is looking at the main areas which need to be addressed and there is potential it will make the right moves in areas like property and some scope for cost cutting.’

SELL THIS: Entertainment One

ANALYSTS at N+1 Singer have a ‘sell’ rating on the production firm best known for children’s cartoon series Peppa Pig.

Although Entertainment One announced pre-tax profits had risen 9pc, the broker said continued growth relies on expansion, and that comes with risks.

Earlier this year, rumours that ITV might make a bid for the firm drove its shares up, and analysts believe they still have a little way to ease back from that flurry.
