TAX CRACKDOWN
French finance minister Michel Sapin has pledged to ‘go all the way’ to claim taxes from big business after police raids on Google and McDonald’s headquarters.
And he ruled out negotiating over what was owed, saying: ‘We don’t do deals like in Britain.’
Police raided Google’s Paris HQ on Tuesday as part of an investigation into suspected tax evasion. McDonald’s was searched on May 18. Both deny wrongdoing.
