GATLIN’S 9.88 PUTS THE WIND UP BOLT

AMERICAN Justin Gatlin fired a warning to Olympic champion Usain Bolt by running the fastest 100 metres time this year at the Prefontaine Classic Diamond League meeting in Oregon in a wind-assisted 9.88sec. Gatlin, 34, was followed home by Jamaica’s Asafa Powell, who ran 9.94, with fellow American Tyson Gay third in 9.98.
