Body found in UK backpacker hunt

A BODY has been found in the search for a British teenager who failed to return from a holiday in Morocco.

Connor Jarvis, 19, was due to come home from a solo trip to Marrakech on May 28, but was not on his booked flight. Avon and Somerset Police said a body has now been recovered from the Atlas Mountains.

A spokesman said: ‘We can confirm that a body has been located in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco.

‘Moroccan authorities recovered the body. Although formal identification has not yet been completed, the family of Connor Jarvis have been made aware.’ Police appealed for information about Mr Jarvis’s disappearance, saying it was out of character.

While in Morocco, the backpacker, from Bath, had met a British soldier who was heading for an eight-day trip to the Atlas Mountains, and the authorities wish to speak to him.
