Nessie, don’t keep your fans waiting!
DOES the Loch Ness phenomenon investigation bureau still exist? From 1961 to 1969, it collected evidence from more than 3,000 people who claimed to have seen the creature. Furthermore, the monster was said to have been tracked on radar. Don Taylor, a former u.S. Navy submariner, claimed his two-ton submarine was turned right around when he was close to making contact with it. During the Thirties, the Loch Ness monster made numerous appearances and did everything bar signing autographs. In August 1968, sonar experiments were conducted by the university of Birmingham scientists (New Scientist 19/12/1968). Their experiments were inconclusive, and, since then, the loch seems to have been pretty unruffled. So what’s happened to the monster? Has he emigrated, died or gone into hibernation? I am sure that all his fans, the local hoteliers and the Scottish Tourist Board, would give him a very warm welcome back.
