Sorrell anger builds

-

SIR Martin Sorrell faces a backlash over his £70m pay as boss of WPP this week, after two more groups joined calls for investors to vote down his ‘excessive’ deal.

Financial analysts at the Local Authority Pension Fund Forum and investment charity ShareAction have blasted the package of the 71-year-old chief executive.

The father of three, who lives in a £5m property in central London with his 43-year-old Italian wife Cristiana, is the highest paid boss in the FTSE 100.

WPP’s annual general meeting will be held tomorrow. Shares rose 0.4pc or 7p to 1588p.
