There’s sport and sport
WHAT an interesting insight we have just had of the different attitudes between international soccer and rugby players.
In an historic victory against Australia, the England rugby team coach, a proven winner at this level, made an outstanding substitution in the first half, won the match and stated they had not played well enough — repeated by the captain, Dylan Hartley.
In a disappointing draw against Russia, the England soccer team coach, who has never won anything at this level, failed to substitute a deeply disappointing Raheem Sterling with the most successful striker in the Premier league, had the second best striker in the Premier League take corners and lost the game to a draw in the last minutes.
The pundits all stated how marvellously everyone had played.
