Josef El-Raghy, 45 Founder and chairman, Centamin

THE founder and chairman of Centamin has cashed in £ 5.6m after offloading 8pc of his shares. Josef El-Raghy sold 5m shares after the gold miner’s stock hit 111p per share – the highest levels for five years.

El- Raghy, 45, had already disposed of 12.6m shares in May at a price of 98p per share, netting him £13.3m.

Following the latest sale El-Raghy and his family still hold around 54m shares in the FTSE 250 company, equivalent to a 4.7pc stake. El-Raghy, who graduated from the University of Western Australia, is the third biggest shareholder.

Centamin’s stock fell 3.4pc, or 3.9p to 109.4p.
