Furious residents’ diary of misery

THE residents started a Facebook page where they recorded some of their complaints. Entries included:

19 MAY – 21.30: Gypsies moving in on the building site across the road.

20 MAY – 10.37: Washing lines hung outside caravans.

21 MAY – 21.25: Vandalism in car park nearby. CCTV cameras appear to have been removed.

21 MAY – 22.14: Had to shut door due to noise from travellers’ kids.

22 MAY – 00.06: Generator causing a lot of noise. 24 MAY – 08.46: Generator keeping people up all night again.

24 MAY – 16.32: Rocks thrown at locals by travellers’ children. They are running around screaming like animals. Reported to police.

27 MAY – 11.00: Travellers playing loud music while police and housing associatio­n vans sat nearby.

29 MAY – 14.59: Generator going again.

31 MAY – 13.05: Travellers’ children mucking around with large pieces of wood on the estate. Reported to police.

2 JUNE: Window cracked when I get home.

7 JUNE: Large amount of rubbish on site by caravans.

15 JUNE: More caravans turn up. Thought that they were leaving.

18 JUNE: Fire brigade called, but do nothing to stop three bonfires.

20 JUNE: Could not feed baby as there were three flies in her food bowl.

20 JUNE – 22.06: Travellers depart, but leave a huge amount of rubbish behind.
