Now Star Wars Daisy turns into a spice girl
SHE always looks immaculately made up on the red carpet with apparently flawless skin.
But Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley fights an ongoing battle with adult acne.
And has now revealed that she has added spice in an attempt to tackle the problem.
She has posted a photograph of her face covered in turmeric, a staple of curry powder, together with a video demonstrating to her 2.1million social media followers how she uses the ingredient in a face mask. Miss Ridley, 24, captioned the video: ‘I scrubbed my face and I am YELLOW! Ahahahahaha. Will have to see if I’m a squeaky clean clear-skinned goddess in the morning.’
She explained she had searched the internet for ‘at home remedies for skin’ and admitted she had been ‘slightly liberal with the turmeric...’
Miss Ridley suffers from endometriosis and polycystic ovaries, which disrupt her hormones. Her testosterone levels have been affected, causing her problems with acne.
The actress, who rose to prominence in last year’s film Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is now filming episode VIII of the sci-fi series in which she stars as Rey alongside fellow British actor John Boyega.
She lamented that her home face mask had also ended up all over her hands, saying on Instagram: ‘And now my hands are dyed yellow and I have filming tomorrow!’
A week ago she revealed that she had been diagnosed with endometriosis and polycystic ovaries (PCOS). Endometriosis is a disorder in which tissue that normally lines the womb grows outside it. Sufferers of PCOS have enlarged ovaries with small cysts and it can also cause acute acne.
Miss Ridley said she had tried several treatments for her bad skin before discovering the cause was an underlying condition.
