No children? We coped

-

NOT having children had ‘affected’ the Home Secretary and her husband but it was just ‘one of those things’, she said yesterday.

Speaking for the first time about her struggle to conceive, Theresa May said that she and her husband Philip found comfort in their happy 35-year marriage and other things they were ‘blessed with’ when they found out they could not have children.

‘Of course we were both affected by it,’ she said. ‘You see friends who now have grown-up children, but you accept the hand that life deals you.

‘It just didn’t happen, so you know, it’s one of those things.’
