Frantic family of missing girl, 16, beg her to get in touch with them
tHe desperate family of a 16-year-old girl who has been missing from home for four days last night pleaded with her to contact them.
Betheny taylor vanished on Wednesday night in what her family are calling a ‘mystery’.
A possible sighting was reported of her getting on a bus near her home at around 5pm on friday.
It is feared she may be with a boyfriend in Luton, 28 miles from her family in enfield, north London.
Last night Betheny’s grandmother Valerie Carroll, 69, said relatives were at a ‘loose end’.
Speaking from the pub that she runs in eastwick, essex, Mrs Carroll said: ‘We just want her to come home. She’s a lovely girl and we don’t really know what has made her disappear.
‘She’s never done anything like this before, she’s a very caring girl and very popular.
‘If she reads this I just want her to contact us, if not me her aunties or her mum. I’m sure she has just left it too late to come home one night and panicked.’
She added: ‘I don’t know who she is with, we just hope they are kind.’
Betheny was wearing a red and blue plaid shirt with white jeans when she went missing.
those close to her were yesterday searching the local area and handing out flyers.
the black and white printouts said that Betheny had connections to Luton and enfield, adding: ‘Any information will be a great help, we just want her home safe.’
Writing on social media, her brother revealed police may know her whereabouts, while her sister-in-law said relatives believed she may be with a boy called Charlie.
Celebrities including former glamour model Katie Price have posted about her disappearance and thousands have taken to social media to appeal for her safe return.
former X factor contestant and DJ George Shelley also tweeted about the teenager – the post had yesterday been shared more than 3,000 times.
Her brother Billy taylor, 20, uploaded a picture of himself with his sister, writing: ‘I love you Beth, more than anything in this world.’
He said on twitter: ‘ Beth, if you can see this, just contact someone. We’re not angry, we’re just worried. Please come home.’ In a later post, he said: ‘ No good news yet. But Met Police are doing their best, as are we all.’
Betheny’s cousin, who only gave his name as Jay on social media, also tweeted: ‘Please, if anyone has any information. My family are in absolute bits.’
Yesterday afternoon, Mr taylor wrote: ‘Police currently looking into someone they think she may be with. Won’t say too much on facebook but this is going viral and me and my family can’t thank everyone enough.’
Betheny’s sister-in-law, Cherelle Kingham, wrote that the teenager was thought to be in the Luton area, adding that she could be with ‘Charlie’. Betheny is described as white and 5ft 5in tall with long mousy brown hair.
Anyone with any information about her whereabouts is asked to contact the police on 101.
