Parsley and dill may help beat cancer
GARNISHING dishes with parsley and dill could stave off cancer, scientists have found.
The garden herbs contain chemicals that prevent tumours from forming, according to the study.
Parsley helps avoid bad breath, boosts immunity, improves vision and reduces hair loss. Dill combats free radicals which can cause disease.
When Russian researchers combined molecules from the plants they created a chemical known for its anticancer properties – glaziovianin A. In the Journal of Natural Products, Alexander Kiselev, of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, said his team hoped glaziovianin A would help develop cheaper medicine that can be used in anti-cancer drugs.
