MISS AMERICA’S GRANDDAUGHTER!

COCO VANDEWEGHE should feel comfortable taking centre stage at Wimbledon because she is the sixth member of her family to step into the limelight. Her maternal grandparents were the all-star couple Colleen Kay Hutchins (above) — crowned Miss America in 1952 — and Ernie Vandeweghe, who played basketball for the New York Knicks between 1949 and 1956. Their son Kiki, Coco’s uncle, also played for the Knicks, as did her great uncle Mel Hutchins. Coco’s mother Tauna, meanwhile, swam at the 1976 Montreal Olympics.
