Foolish to be a saver

WHy should I save for my future care (Mail) when, by dipping into my pension savings, I can have lovely holidays and new cars?

then, when I’ve enjoyed the good life, the Government/local authority will fund my care, as I have nothing left. If I foolishly go without the good things in life, I will have money for my care, but the care home will be shortchanged by the Government/local authority and will charge me extra to fund those who had all the things I went without.
