Chelsea deal for Eduardo

CHELSEA have signed 33-year-old goalkeeper Eduardo (below) from Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb on a one-year deal. Eduardo, a non-playing member of Portugal’s victorious Euro 2016 squad, will provide cover for Thibaut Courtois and Asmir Begovic. ‘Having the chance to come to the Premier League and Chelsea is an easy decision,’ he said. ‘It’s another level from where I’ve been.’ AC Milan, who this week refused a £35million bid from Chelsea for Alessio Romagnoli, 21, yesterday ‘thanked’ the Blues for the offer while insisting the defender was not for sale.
