Corbynistas troll JK Rowling – for daring to say he’s no Dumbledore!

- By Gerri Peev Political Correspondent

ONE is a bearded hero known for using his wisdom to transform the fortunes of his loyal followers ... the other is Jeremy Corbyn.

But that hasn’t stopped spellbound Corbynistas likening the Labour leader to Albus Dumbledore – JK Rowling’s muchloved wizard headmaster.

However the comparison prompted an angry response from the author – who was promptly trolled by Corbyn’s supporters.

An online post circulated among fans of the 67- year- old Labour leader showed pictures of the two men with the message: ‘Sometimes you need an old white guy to fight the forces of evil’.

In response Miss Rowling – a Labour supporter but not a fan of Mr Corbyn – posted: ‘Corbyn. Is. Not. Dumbledore.’

She provided a link to an article pointing out that the Labour leader had been paid up to £20,000 for appearances on the Iranian state propaganda channel, Press TV – now banned in the UK.

Miss Rowling, who has a net worth of around £750million, sarcastically added: ‘I forgot Dumbledore trashed Hogwarts, refused to resign and ran off to the forest to make speeches to angry trolls.’ She also lamented a poll showing that Mr Corbyn had a clear lead over Owen Smith, his rival for the Labour leadership.

Supporters of Mr Corbyn hit back at the Harry Potter author, with some even calling her Satan for her criticisms. She was also attacked as being ‘out of touch’.

One supporter of Mr Corbyn called Nick tweeted: ‘The Left don’t hate your [Rowling’s] decadence, we hate your loathing of working class people and working class politics.’

But Miss Rowling replied: ‘Ever gone hungry to feed your kid, Nick? I have. The last Labour government helped many like me.’

A YouGov Labour leadership poll puts Mr Corbyn on 62 per cent with Mr Smith trailing on 38 per cent.

Another poll yesterday also suggested Labour members will back Mr Corbyn if he launches a purge of moderate MPs. Allies of the leader are urging him to take revenge on his enemies in the party by forcing them to fight for reselection as MPs if he wins.
