Shop at Argos ...in Sainsbury’s
THIRTY Argos stores are to open inside Sainsbury’s outlets before Christmas.
There will also be five mini Habitat shops in some larger stores as the supermarket chain races to transform itself beyond selling groceries.
Sainsbury’s paid £1.4billion for Argos and Habitat earlier this year in a deal that gives its customers access to a range of over 90,000 products.
Shoppers at the Argos outlets inside Sainsbury’s will have the option to either buy instantly using tablets, or reserve online for same-day collection.
The company also offers home delivery on tens of thousands of items as part of a service that will provide a British rival to Amazon.
John Rogers, chief executive of Sainsbury’s Argos, said: ‘Argos is one of the UK’s leading digital retailers. We know customers value the convenience of shopping for Argos products whenever they want.’
The mini Habitat stores will include more than 600 products – including furniture, lighting and textiles – created by Habitat’s design team in London.
