£90m Centrica contract
CARILLION shares rose more than 3pc yesterday after the company won a £90m contract with British Gas owner Centrica.
The FTSE 250 firm will provide a number of services to Centrica, including planning, maintenance, cleaning, security and catering.
The work will be spread across Centrica’s 115 sites in the UK and Republic of Ireland and builds on work Car- illion has done for Centrica since 2005.
The contract will start in December and run for five years – although this could be extended to seven years under the terms of the deal.
Carillion shares rose 3.4pc or 8.9p to 270p.
Chief executive Richard Howson said: ‘ We have worked closely with Centrica since 2005 and built a strong partnership.’
