ENGLAND’S SIX-YEAR CORNER WOE NO LAUGHING MATTER
HARRY KANE has said that he and his team-mates have had ‘a laugh and a joke’ about Roy Hodgson’s decision to put the Tottenham striker on corners at Euro 2016 but there is nothing funny about England’s woeful record from set-pieces. England have not scored from a corner at a major tournament since the 2010 World Cup — and even then they took it short before Matthew Upson (left) rose to meet Steven Gerrard’s cross against Germany. At the last three tournaments England had 71 corners without scoring. They also failed to make any of their nine count against Slovakia on Sunday.
