Fresh face of the Education Secretary after mole removal
THE difference is remarkable – but at first glance it is difficult to pinpoint what the changes have been.
Only close scrutiny reveals the reason behind Education Secretary Justine Greening’s new look.
It seems several moles have disappeared from her face in the later image, taken on Wednesday. Last night, it emerged the 47year-old has had ‘a couple of moles removed on medical advice’, according to a source close to the minister.
GPs will often refer patients to have moles removed if they suspect the growths may have cancerous abnormal cells. Patients usually undergo the simple procedure under local anaesthetic, although they can be left with a small scar.
Miss Greening is not the first public figure to go through the procedure. Actor Ewan McGregor had a mole on his forehead removed in 2007. And John McCain, the US politician, underwent a similar procedure when he was a Republican White House hopeful in 2008. Miss Greening is the first openly gay or bisexual female cabinet minister, having revealed her sexuality this year. In June, she revealed on Twitter that she was in a ‘happy same-sex relationship’.
Referring to the EU referendum, she added: ‘I campaigned for Stronger In but sometimes you’re better off out!’
The MP for Putney was previously in a relationship with Mark Clarke, the disgraced former election aide to David Cameron dubbed the ‘Tatler Tory’ who was involved in a bullying scandal.
