Ugly truth about this beauty

PLAYBOY model Dani Mathers, left, thought it was a really, really good laugh to take a photograph of a 70-year-old woman showering in her Los Angeles gym, then upload it onto her social media accounts.

‘If I can’t unsee this, then neither can you,’ she tittered to her friends on Snapchat.

Glad to say that darling Dani isn’t laughing any more. The 29-year-old former Playmate of the Year now faces a criminal trial for body-shaming the pensioner.

She could face up to six months in jail if found guilty of the dissemination of private images — or the Peeping Tom Law, as it is known in California. You might think that this seems harsh — but I don’t. If it was a naked child whose privacy had been invaded, there would have been uproar.

It’s awful to mock the old and unguarded in this way. And there is something particularly distasteful about a beautiful twentysomething doing so. Her fulsome apology was the contrition of a cornered rat. What she did was just another example of the cruel insouciance of the young at the expense of their elders and betters.

Dani is too dumb to realise that she is not going to be gorgeous for ever, even if she does live to a ripe old age. And anyway — a woman still working out at 70? She is an inspiration, not a subject for ridicule.
