ANT married Lisa Armstrong in 2006 (top right) with a reception at Cliveden House, Berkshire. Lisa, who is now in charge of hair and make-up on BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing, met Ant in 1994 when she was in the band Deuce. PJ & Duncan were on the same bill in Newcastle. The couple turned down a £2 million magazine deal and spent £150,000 on their big day. Dec, naturally, was the best man. Dec said: ‘I might be a natural show-off, but being your best mate’s best man is a different kettle of fish. The paper with my speech written out was shaking in my hand.’ He added he felt ‘absolutely lost’ when Ant went to the Maldives on honeymoon, joking: ‘I considered flying out there to join them, but when I texted Ant to find out the name of his hotel, he never replied.’ Dec’s wedding (right) was in August last year, at St Michael’s Church, Elswick, Newcastle. His brother, Father Dermott Donnelly, conducted the service. The bride was blonde Ali Astall, his — and Ant’s — manager, for whom he had held a candle for years. They started dating in 2013. He said: ‘I think we’ve always been attracted to each other, but it has always been that thing of we work together.’ Guests included TV presenters Phillip Schofield, Holly Willoughby, Tess Daly and Vernon Kay. Ant was the best man. There were two stag dos — in London and Las Vegas. Ant said after his own stag do in 2006 — a pub crawl in London — that he woke up in McDonald’s wearing a French Maid’s outfit. Dec had got him drunk and dressed him up as a prank.
