Kim’s bodyguard filed £1m bankruptcy before robbery
KIM Kardashian’s high-profile bodyguard filed for bankruptcy ten weeks ago – with his security firm owing nearly £1million, it emerged last night.
Pascal Duvier, 43, has taken flak for not being in the Paris apartment when the star was robbed.
And now it has emerged he lodged a claim for company insolvency at Heidelberg administrative court in Germany on July 22 this year.
His German ProtectSecurity firm, which has run security for a host of celebrities from Miss Kardashian’s husband Kanye West to the Black Eyed Peas, had racked up debts totalling 1,093,518 euros (£961,296). An insolvency lawyer said: ‘There is so much debt. There are many claimants. I cannot say the exact number. Lots.’
Mr Duvier has dramatically vowed to track down the Paris attackers – saying: ‘We will find you... you messed with the wrong one’.
But he has faced claims he left the star exposed by failing to secure the flat in his absence.
Mr Duvier is still employed by the Kardashians but missed the robbery because he was accompanying Miss Kardashian’s sisters Kourtney and Kendall to a Paris nightclub at the time.
However, Miss Kardashian has told friends she does not blame him, and it was her decision for him to be out at a nightclub while she slept.
There is no suggestion Mr Duvier had any involvement in the crime.
The 6ft 4in security guard has worked for Kanye West since 2012.
Five masked men put a gun to Miss Kardashian’s head during the heist in the early hours of Monday, after the concierge at her £25,000a-week apartment block was forced to let them in.
The overnight watchman was handcuffed as he led the five guntoting raiders into her apartment where they looted £8.5million of jewellery. The concierge, said to be in his 40s, opened her armoured door and reportedly remained inside the flat throughout the raid.
Miss Kardashian, who flew home to New York just seven hours after the heist, reportedly asked the concierge during the raid: ‘Are we going to die?’ and he replied, ‘I don’t know’. Neighbours of the star apparently heard nothing and the gang did not leave any DNA trace, according to police sources.
However, detectives have seized CCTV footage showing a car cruising back and forth outside the apartment that night which they hope will provide a lead.
