GET FIT IN 15 MINUTES

-

what to do

TRY this exercise to tone your tummy lying down in the comfort of your own home, says Nadya Fairweather, founder of u-shape.co.uk.

Begin by lying down flat on your back with your hands down by your sides. Pull your tummy in so you can feel pressure on your back against the floor. Bring your knees up towards your chest and push one foot out in front of you, moving your leg in a circular movement.

Alternate moving your legs, as if you are riding a bicycle. The slower you do this, the harder it will be.

Try doing a minute on and a minute rest for eight rounds.

what to eat

FOR a flatter stomach choose probiotic and prebiotic foods, which are great at supporting healthy digestion, advises Eve Kalinik ( evekalinik.com).

Probiotics are ‘good’ bacteria that keep our digestive system healthy, and prebiotics are carbohydrates that act as food for probiotics.

Fermented foods such as sauerkraut, live yogurts and full-fat unpasteurised cheese are bursting full of natural probiotics. They encourage the growth of beneficial bacteria in the body to help digestion and ease bloating. Prebiotics are in foods such as bananas, oats, onions and garlic.

You should also consume fibre every day to maintain a flat tummy — get this from plenty of fresh veg and moderate amounts of fruit. As always , hydration is key — aim for two litres per day and remember that herbal teas do count.
