Nothing to hide?
HOTLY denying allegations of profligacy, Commonwealth Secretary- General Baroness Scotland claims she is guilty of ‘no extravagance at all’ in refurbishing her taxpayer-funded mansion – though the estimated cost rose from £250,000 to £430,000 after she lodged new demands.
She also shrugs off charges of cronyism, saying the £30,000-a-month contract she granted her friend Lord Patel was worth it for his ‘excellence and experience’.
So will Baroness Shameless explain why, if she has nothing to hide, her deputy has threatened to sack and/or prosecute any whistleblower who alerts the public to her spending habits? It’s only our money, after all.
