A sheer pink vest, worn to the party conference in 2003, drew attention for her poorly chosen bra, while her penchant for trendy low-cut dresses has been let down by unsupportive underwear.

But she’s put paid to that, with a secret shopping spree in upmarket lingerie shop Rigby & Peller, just off London’s Bond street.

sources say she had the shop shut to the public while she — and a specialist underwear fitter — chose a selection of new bras and briefs.

Lingerie sets start around £100, with a bespoke, made-to-measure service costing £305 for a bra and £865 for a racy lace basque.
