Take note, United!

- BEN GROUNDS

PAUL SCHOLES was not at all happy with Manchester United’s latest insipid showing in the 2-1 defeat at Fenerbahce this week. Speaking on BT Sport, the club’s former midfielder said United were ‘bullied’ in Istanbul, but it was his pen that did most of the talking. Shared on Twitter by presenter Jake Humphrey, the team sheet Scholes used to jot down his notes had angry scrawls all over it. Manager Jose Mourinho’s name was crossed out in a box, a question mark was drawn next to Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s name and, perhaps most damningly of all, ‘Rojo big worry’ was written at the top of the page. That, however, understated Scholes’ true thoughts, as he later said with Marcos Rojo, United would have to score ‘at least three goals’ to be in with a chance of winning games.
